Destin-FWB Dolphin Watching FAQ

It is highly recommended to check in for your cruise anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour prior to the scheduled departure time. Traffic and parking in both Destin and Fort Walton Beach can be hectic, especially during the peak season, so it is important to consider this and allow yourself plenty of time to drive there, park, and walk to the check-in booth or kiosk.

Dolphin cruises cannot guarantee dolphin sightings, as they are wild animals being observed in their natural habitat. However, there is a nearly 100% success rate for spotting dolphins during Fort Walton Beach and Destin dolphin cruises.

Most people do not get sick on dolphin cruises, as they will stay closer to shore in the Gulf of Mexico, or in the calm waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay. With that being said, if you or someone in your group has a tendency to get motion sickness, it is highly recommended to take motion sickness medicine, like Dramamine, for example, in advance.

When trying to decide what to wear for a dolphin cruise, the best thing to do is to check the weather, as most dolphin cruises take place aboard uncovered and open-air boats. There is a small chance you may get wet on certain cruises, so it is highly recommended to bring along a towel just in case. Other essentials you will want to remember to wear include a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen!

Yes, the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park is one of the only places in the area that can guarantee dolphin sightings, and is the perfect rainy-day activity for the whole family! It is important to be aware that while parts of this awesome aquarium are indoors, the majority of the complex is outdoors with covered awnings. With that being said, it is recommended to bring along a rain jacket or umbrella to use when walking to and from the shows and exhibits.
